What's typically in season when
Trees dominate February through May, with oak, birch, maple, and cedar doing most of the damage in the US. Grasses — ryegrass, timothy, Bermuda — pick up as trees fade, peaking from late May into July. Ragweed takes over mid-August and runs hard until the first hard freeze.
On dry, windy days, levels surge. After heavy rain, they crash temporarily. Most pollen is released in the early morning, so plan outdoor exercise for late afternoon if you're sensitive.
